Kenya tena
Since I already was in the neighborhood (Rwanda) I wanted to say hello to some friends in Kenya. I stayed some days in Nairobi, but I also got the chance to travel to Nyeri. The first picture is my good friend Milly and the second is of Kiuna and Phoebe, my host mum in Nyeri :)
It was so nice to be back in Kenya, even if it was just for a short while -I cannot express it with words (and yes I'm very talkative)

Rwanda
My Christian Union (CU) in Oslo has had a missions project in Rwanda the last 3 years, and I've heard about it both during my stay in Kenya and this autumn as fresh CU-member. This time around I was so lucky and blessed that I was given the oppurtunity to travel to Rwanda and see on a more close range, what the project was really about. In our application for financial support we wrote about mutual learning both in terms of culture, history and leadership (how we do our ministry). Looking back I can say that such a mutual learning has been there indeed. It has for me personally been very enriching to meet Rwandan students who have lots of commitment and optimism. I hope that some of the things we saw and learnt can be implemented in our very own CU in Oslo, at least I'm very inspired, feeling "freshened" after our visit :)

Departure day
Today is the "d" day, as in departure day. The clock is moving towards twelve and the butterflies in my stomack are ready to fly, and so am I :)
I am travelling to Nairobi today and to Kigali (Rwanda) on Wednesday. It is my first time to ever be flying (or travelling in general) such a distance on my one. It is a bit scary now on beforehand, but it is kind of exciting too, like a tickeling feeling. I shall do my best to snap some photos to post on my blogsite. Ok, so long folks -Tutaonana :)

"Long time no see"
Wow, I think this is the first time that I update my blog since April..Exams are finally over, at least for a while :)
For some weeks ago we went for a hike at Skaugum, and yes, it is the same place as the royal family have a house, but no, for some strange reason we were not invited in to their home :P
Anyway, it was nice trip with great weather and with a nice view. In addition to a nice view, I also got to discover new things about myself -or just forgotten perhaps? Take notice of all the flowers I've captured! They are so beautiful!

Easter holiday! Home at Fitjar (on Stord)
Holiday, holiday, holiday..holy day?
There are those who claim that Norwegians love holidays because it means vacation and no work..So does that mean that we are lazy? Well let's be honest -maybe we are. Lazy days or not, vacation is a time where you have time (if you are lazy that is), time for time, time for friends, time for yourself.
Spending time with family&friends:
From left: My friend Milly (from Stord/Hald), my brother Kjell Magne, my brother Svein Arne, my friend Gillian (Stord/Hald) and me. My friends in the picture above are students at Hald and will therefore be leaving us soon..buhuu.. (somebody want to travel with me to Kenya any time soon? ;) )
Nice couple huh?
(old picture) My niece Zahra Elise and my good friend Mari, who has been confused for my sister...which is very interesting given to the fact that I only have brothers.

Her kjem bileta:

I'm Norwegian! Skiing in the mountain :)
Last weekend my good friend Live invited me to go skiing with her to Nordmarkskapellet. As a true Norwegian I could not resist. So I went out to buy skiis Saturday in the afternoon...To make a long story short: it was a long and tiresome journey, but as in the fairy tales it always good guys are rewarded.
And Sunday morning, we could take the tram up to the "mountain" (they only have forrests here..) and had our well earned ski-trip to Nordmarkskapellet. That journey, was not so demanding..
At Nordmarkskapellet we had waffles and sat a little while in front of the fire place......så koselig!

Visiting Mari in ÅL
Last weekend we were a handful of promising last years Hald-students, that visited Mari in Ål.
abroad. And as good Norwegians (Leandro included) we bounced into the white landscape with eager and lust. We had a great time and looked back at our sparkling memories from Hald and our stay skiis and snowboards, accompanied with backpacks filled with Oranges, Cocoa and off course chocolate and biscuits!
The weather was fantastic and we had a great time
And we are very greatful towards Mari's parents who were bold enough to open their home to 11 (!) "young adults".
Here are the pics:
Iselin (Kenya) and Inger Hanne (Thailand) inside the cafeteria.
Stein Bjarte (Uganda) and Ingunn (Serbia) are eating oranges ?

Late updates
Well these people moved to Oslo; Lagshuset,
Tais and Suemmey come from Brazil (exchange students from Hald). Suemmey live in my "dorm"..
My friends from Laget in Brazil are very nice people and zealous to learn Norwegian.
"Bruker du strømpebukse" and other useful phrases are my contribution in this case.
Here they are:
Suemmey
Tais (to the left) and our friend Andrea (who, by the way is Norwegian)
